Faber apps, iOS 13, and Dark Mode
With version 10.7.5 of the SignalScope apps and version 10.4.5 of the SoundMeter apps, compatibility with the iOS 13 beta has been added. These new versions of the apps also support Dark Mode.

Faber iOS apps updated with enhanced support for miniDSP USB microphones
The latest update to Faber Acoustical’s SignalScope (10.7.2) and SoundMeter (10.4.2) apps includes updated microphone and headset sensitivities for Apple’s newest iPad models as well as enhanced support for USB measurement microphones from miniDSP.

If you rely on SoundMeter, or one of our other apps, for regular sound level measurements, you might want to consider holding off on updating iOS until a solution is available. For those who have already updated, the workaround of connecting and disconnecting a headset microphone offers a solution for continuing to work with the built-in microphone as before.

For some time, SoundMeter has offered an optional in-app upgrade that would allow users to log sound level and noise dose measurements for up to two weeks. Version 8.1 adds an upgrade to allow whole and 1/3 octave sound levels to be logged for similar durations.

SoundMeter 8 and SoundMeter Pro 4 each now include a companion app for Apple Watch. Users can now monitor levels, start and stop measurements, and receive notifications from their wrist. These new versions of SoundMeter add other significant features, as well, including background sound level measurements and notifications of exceeded levels.
