SoundMeter 12.5 includes updated app for Apple Watch
With the release of SoundMeter X and SoundMeter Pro 2022, version 12.5, SoundMeter’s companion app for Apple Watch has been completely re-written for better performance and improved support for newer versions of watchOS. In addition to sporting modernized software code, the SoundMeter watch app includes an interface for the Max Levels tool and adds max and peak levels to the sound level meter display.
It should be noted that the SoundMeter watch app serves as a remote control for the corresponding app running on the iPhone–it doesn’t analyze or process any signals coming directly from the watch’s built-in microphone.
On iPhone and iPad, SoundMeter 12.5 offers improved handling of data and audio files. On newer versions of iOS, external files (e.g. on iCloud Drive) can be opened in-place instead of being copied into the app sandbox before opening. Significant improvements have also been made ‘under the hood’ to ensure that the app runs well on the newest versions of iOS and iPadOS.
Version 12.5 also includes other minor cosmetic and stability improvements.
